1986 Vector Freeplay

Another VERY rare, early freestyler!

This build I did back in 2009 with my son and was just straight-up fun! I bought this frame set off fee-Bay long, long ago.  Fun thing about it was it got re-posted like 3 times and no one wanted it each time.  On the 3rd time the seller posted it, I said "what the hell - I'll buy it and do something with it someday.... maybe....".  At that time, many in our collecting world really didn't know what to think of it and just really didn't give it a second look. Fast forward a little over a decade - I decided to find out the history of this model. Seems they are not only rare (less than a dozen) but this one is really rare.  At this time, it is the only original finish frame AND fork set with original factory stickers that has surfaced in our community. My intentions were never to make this into a carpet queen or show bike.  I just wanted to build something that would complement its survivor finish and the rest of the parts fit in with it.

Tires: Kenda 2.0” Front and Rear - used

Brakes: Dia-Compe – MX 900’s – Front and Rear - used

Levers: Dia-Compe Tech 5's - Locking – used

Cables: Generic - used

Detangler: ACS Rotor - used

Pedals: SR Copies - used

Crank: SR Cosmo-Lite 1 piece – used

Bottom Bracket: Sugino - loose ball - used

Chainring: SR - 43T – used

Seat: GT BMX - used

Seat Post: GT stamped – laid-back – 4130 Cro-mo – used

Seat Post Clamp: SR – used
