1983 Star Products BMX
1983 Star Products frame, fork and bars in original chrome and decals. These were made by VDC and were available in 82-83. In Aug 83, Star turned into GHP.
Greg told me that he was trying to buy his first home in 1983 and needed to show a job other than "pro bmx'er" so his dad said they were starting GHP. This was the summer of 1983. Greg and his parents peeled the decals off the remaining Star frames, forks, and seat posts and installed new GHP decals. The Star Bars were offered as Star and GHP both through 84. By Aug 1983, VDC had produced the first GHP frames which were mostly like the Star frames but had no gusset at the headtube and the dropouts were different. The Star and GHP frames both had a flat brake bridge. In Nov 1983 the GHP switched to a round brake bridge and the rest is history.
