1998 Specialized Fly Boy
Built for one year only and started the Specialized bombproof dirtjump era.
I was 13 when my Dad bought me a Specialized Flyboy back home in Australia. Coolest bike in the shop at the time. I basically rode/jumped the wheels off it until i saved up and got a new bike, the only thing left after 3 years of abuse was a flyboy sticker I removed and stuck on the shed cabinet. Looking back, that bike started my interest in dirtjumps and made me some life long friends, it was also a stretch for my Dad to buy me that bike so it meant a lot. 20 years on, I now realize it is important to keep those memories in tact. Starting on this site I would flick through the photos of the Flyboys looking at the details those bikes had and re-living the day I got my first Flyboy. I stumbled onto a fresh flyboy that Draw (Museum Pro Member) had recently sold to LBIMike (Museum Newbie).....this one was Never ridden!!!. I now needed that bike and being in the US, it made communications and postage a lot easier. I chased down Draw and Mike, hassled them a little for the bike or any knowledge they had of one in as good condition. Mike got back to me and offered to sell it on. (Thanks again Mike!!) Mike sent it, perfectly packaged and I now own all my memories of this bike again.
