1979 Schwinn Mag Scrambler SX100
Originally equipped Scrambler sx100 with red Tuff II Mags
This 1979 Schwinn Scrambler SX100 Mag BMX Bike is a great example of the late 70's BMX Era. Made in August of 1979 at the Schwinn factory in Chicago, this filet brazed Schwinn features Skyway Tuff II's (dated April 1979), Schwinn's triple chrome bmx box bars, stem, cranks, sprocket and tubular forks. The only thing missing from this nearly 100% original survivor from the 70's was the seat and handlebar pad. With the help of Kraynicks Bike shop here is Pittsburgh, a correct Schwinn BMX saddle and a NOS red vinyl metal snap bar pad have been added to make this bike 100% authentic.
This bike was in great condition when found. It was properly stored and lightly ridden. However, all parts have been disassembled, cleaned and polished. The original paint has been cleaned and polished and this bike retains its original stickers. The Tuff II's were in excellent shape. Still, the hubs have been completely rebuilt. This bike even retains its original tires and chain guard.
