1985 Schwinn Predator Streetwise
1985 Predator Bi-Oval with a mix of old and new.
I was recently on E-Bay (before I learned about BMXmuseum.com!) looking for some BMX parts for another build when this frame and fork popped up. The finish and decals are as I bought it. This was an impulse buy so I have no history on the frame and fork other than I exactly remember when these bikes hit the stores. I was a Schwinn Sting Competition bicycle owner and a Predator Aero bicycle owner so at the time I really looked down at the import Predator Series. Today, now older and with a much different perspective I have an appreciation for the Predator brand and the loyalty of the fans. I enjoyed this build as it challenged me to find the Vintage Skyway Mag coaster brake set up and JB freewheel conversion. It was a great experience since it was Pro Members on this site that helped me complete the build. All of the Vintage parts are from my BMX days and I literally had in storage since the 80's! The new parts are mostly from Albe's and Porkchop BMX. This Predator will join the bike collection and look nice on the shop wall!
