1986 Redline RL-20II

Helen of Troy

It all started with a stem … I got back into our sport back in 2007, and at the time found an original Cali Red Forklifter stem on eBay.  Think I paid $100 for it and  figured "one day I'll be able to build a survivor around her ..."

It all came together in 2015.  This frame, fork and handlebars were originally owned by Bronx Styler (RIP amigo), who sold it to JEFFC43 (it's still under his bikes) and then posted a lot of what you see in the Swap Meet.  She came with a white Mallet, and thus the stem found a home.

Then one day in 2018 I stupidly decided to thin the herd and sell her to Rebelguy ... don't ask me what I was thinking.  From there Chris sold her to olskuldj ... hands down the best guy on this site, who in turn sold her back to me. In the time Tony (olskuldj) owned the bike she was used in the Redline Foundations photoshoot with Linn Kastan.

Fun facts:

Survivor finish with original paint and decals on the frame and fork, original paint on handlebars and original paint stem with screened on lettering.

'RE' serial with the straight rear standing platforms you'd see on the 84/85 model.

There isn't a single re-pop part on her, even the brake cables are dated 1986.

Some of the pictures below are from the way I built her back in 2015.
