1998 Redline RL 380
Rebuilding the bike from my childhood.
About 15 or so years ago, I was a 11-12 year old kid who wasn't lucky enough to get a lot of nice things. When all my friend's parents bought them chrome bikes, I of course had to have one. In the beginning of that summer, I walked into the LBS (as a 11-12 year old kid mind you) and asked if they did layaway (not even really sure how I knew what that was) they generously accepted my $10 down payment and I was on my way. by the end of that summer, I mowed enough yards, collected enough cans and bottles, and did enough odd jobs to finally take home my bike. I tossed on some Haro knee savers I got from a friend and called it good, one of the happiest days I can remember. Once I hit high school, the bike was sold to my little cousin... girls became my new "chrome bike" :(
