1984 Redline Prostyler
1984 1st Generation USA made
Yet another one of those early freestyle bikes many didn't have an appreciation for. Being American made, this early 1984 RL-20 Prostyler has the gusset behind the seat post tube, and came without removable fork pegs in the forks. This was the precursor to the RL20-II that was released later that year.
I received this frame/fork as compensation on another deal I did long ago. The seller I got it from already had it sent to Chip awaiting powder. Another one of his flawless restorations! I found a NOS set of stickers, added them on and started building it trying to recreate the one that was in the test article the Winter 1984 issue of FREESTYLIN' magazine. Like many, it's still a work in progress, but I'm very happy with it as it sits now.
