1987 Kuwahara Magician Pro

Merlin the Magician! She's always buzzing just like neon, neon...

I've always wanted a Kuwahara Magician! I had sooo much fun with this build :)

I picked up the frame, forks and bars in their original grey and pink from cru68100 in November 2012 and shipped them over here to Australia (thanks Chris!).

From the get go, my plan was to go seriously neon! Roberto's Custom Powder did an absolutely stunning job of the neon pink powder, it has to be seen in the flesh to be believed, the camera just can't capture its truly awesome glowy-ness! I was extremely lucky to score a rare black O.E. wheelset off eBay for $50(!!) shortly after I got the frame set. I rebuilt the hubs and after a good clean they came up beautifully. I traced the original decalset off the frame to create a custom set especially for this build including custom crank decals for my polished Black Widows. I restored and recovered the Viscount Aero seat in black pigskin split-suede. I robbed the guts out of a pair of VP-777 pedals to convert the 1/2" MKS Graphite 2000s into 9/16". All the polishing on this build was done myself, the black anodising on the stem cap and chainring was done by Griffin Engraving. I'm running Dia Compe 990s with Dan's Comp adapter plates and a custom rear cable hanger solution I designed and made. :)
