1983 Hutch Pro Racer
A pre serial Hutch Pro Racer.
I bought the frame from Richie in the US. Its been one of my dream bikes (the other being a Skyway TA), so its been a very exciting project. My aim was to try and capture the soul of a Pro Star feel with the build. Original Hutch parts were use where ever possible. Or I chose the best, alternative options that I could find or bid on. Like the repop ESP stem was a great substitution for a Hutch stem. I was so happy to be able to get one of those, which in my opinion, is the only stem (other than a chromed Tuf Neck) that could substitute for a Hutch H stem and still ooze that Hutch Pro Star quality. Thanks Greg for the ESP. The silver Cal Lite pads may not be original Hutch ones, but the bar pad is signed by the greatest Hutch Trick rider ever and is the cherry on the top for this built.
I will try to find a matching rear magnesium Hutch hub to match my front one, which will eventually replace the Suzue hubs. After that, my bike will be considered complete.
Also a huge thanks to: Michael6290, CJ Trickstar, 1little-e, bmxsis86, floridamar, and Rusty8857 and Devil Frankie. And a huge thanks to Jimmy for the bars. Woody Itson, you are and will always be a true BMX legend. I'm honoured to have your signature on the bar pad of my bike. I may have missed some. But I hope all the ones mentioned get to see where their parts went. Like so many builds on this site, it's a real international project.
