1984 Hutch Pro Raider
My Childhood Bike
This is my Hutch 1984 Pro Raider. The frame is the only thing left from the original bike. Back in 86, I wanted to start racing and my friend down the street wanted a freestyle bike. So, He and I switched frames. I gave him my 85 chrome Hutch Windstyler and in return, got the Pro Raider.
I have managed to hold onto it for the past 25 years. Several months ago, my son saw the frame in the attic and we decided that the bike needed to be put back together. I haven't decided on whether I am going to put decals back on it. I took them off when I got the bike back in 86 because I liked the look. I love this bike and have never been ashamed that it was a Pro Raider and not a Pro Racer. I guess that is why I have taken care of it since day 1. This is the original chrome, just did an OA bath and used some chrome polish. When I got the bike back together, I went for a ride and felt like a kid again. I got that instant sense of freedom. My Sons love it, my 6 year old will be riding it soon.

03/27/16- My "6" year old son mentioned above is now 11. He loves riding this bike.
