1982 Hutch Pro Racer
This is the custom Hutch bike I put together and rode in the early eighties. I had sold it, but then got it back.
I am the owner of Americancycle.com. This is my Hutch bike. There is a story to be told about how I still have it. Anyone know it? Well, I'd like to add that this bike and my friends custom JMC where both stolen form us while we were inside playing those great arcade games around 1982. Robotron, Stargate, Galaga, Tron or Defender maybe? I got the idea to follow the tire tracks the accused made while riding up the side of the road in the sand like deposits. Yes, Tioga Comp III tire tracks where followed about 7 miles into the city. We spotted them jokers riding our bikes around and flagged down a cop who kindly retrieved them for us. I later sold the bike when I was about 18 to get cash for a car (Firebird 69). Then, 20 years later, I got the bike back from a local bike guy who goes to garage sales. It was a good day! I also own Acebmx.com. Our original name was American Cycle Express (ACE) so we added BMX to make it a cool URL. Americancycle.com was one of the very first BMX bicycle mail order companies the the USA. We helped the industry to grow by making BMX bikes and parts available to order through the mail. Some of the parts you find listed here for sale were purchased new from us or Wes BMX back in the good old days of a carefree life. Thanks to all the friends we made along the way!
