1984 Hutch Pro Raider

Son's 1st build makes dad proud

I realize that this build meant a lot more to me then anyone else, but I was proud to see my son pick everything out & assemble this bike himself.  He picked out the bike's color for powder coating along with all the parts from our spare parts bins.  Then I watched him assemble the bike while I simply sat back & asked him how he thought the parts fit together.  I made a few tweaks privately after he completed his adjustments, just to ensure a snug fit.

A good friend of mine inspected the frame & fork for cracks & repairs prior to powder coating.

The powder coater did a nice job with the candy blue powder coating on the 1984 Hutch Pro Raider frame, Pro Raider fork, MX 1200 stem, Kuwahara chain ring & handlebars.  I believe the handlebars are Pro Raider bars, however, the handlebars are just for show, as they have a bend, crimping & dings.

Additional parts my son picked out includes:
Araya 7x rims with suzue hubs
Kendra Compe 3 tires (1 gum wall & 1 black)
Tuf Neck Seat Post Clamp (with "Tuf Neck" painted by my daughter, an aspiring young artist)
Redline monster cranks
MKS BMX 7 pedals
GT stamped seat post
Velo seat
Vintage California Lite Pads on frame & stem
Vintage Adonized Flite Handlebar pad
Lee Chi brakes (date stamped)
AME grips
Hutch Pro Racer JBD stickers
