2005 Haro Sport

Even when I try to go NewSchool... I'm still MidSchool

2005 Haro Sport, S/N: SPW5N0001

Back in the day, I always wanted a Haro Sport. My buddy Jay thrashed an '88 Team Sport for many years, till it was a creaky, scratched, sticker-bombed mess. I loved every bit of it. I eventually got a Bashguard Master (terrible idea, even then I was near 6'0") and I inherited an '86 Sport from a local around '93-'94... but without the 990, I was always yearning for better braking. When my buddy John found this frame (in pretty poor shape) in Vancouver, he sent it to me as a gift, knowing I'd treat her right! I like the geometry of this frame (based on the Blammo / Mirra) and though Haro didn't quite get the tubing right on these (trimoly I believe) the look and the feel of this bike is a good step in the direction of the eventual Lineage Sport. I did this one up like I would have back in the day: used what I had lying around. Turned out pretty good, I think.

I'll Have to see if I can find a picture of my old Performer from the summer of 1989 for comparison, but I used to rock a Santa Cruz 'shark' decal on my seatpost. Figured I'd pay tribute here. Also -- SPW5N0001 -- I'm not so arrogant as to think I have the first 2005 Sport... but it's a pretty cool serial.
