1983 GT Nora Cup

I have always considered the old GT forks the most attractive front end piece ever built.  Growing up, I never owned a GT racing bike but I was always captivated by its strange architecture and almost feather weight lightness.  During the spring time I was really lucky to win two old school items at an amazing low price.  First came the handlebars and soon afterwards they were followed by the forks.   My luck continued when I ran into the frame.  Although it is not in the best shape; a big ding on the long tube and there is something going on with the interior wall inside the seat post tube,  the frame made the needed addition for completing this short term project.  I put together the bike using a series of old and new parts.  The following list comprises all parts used:

GT Nora Cup Frame and Fork

GT handlebars

Tange headset lock (NOS)

Toadstool grips (NOS)

Shimano DX brake lever (NOS)

Dia-Compe MX 900 rear brake with original hardware, cable housing and brake shoes

Tuf – Neck stem

Tuf- Neck seat post clamp (NOS)

UNI Turbo seat

Ukai rims

Suzue hubs

Suntour freewheel

Mitsuboshi/Tioga Competition IV tires (NOS)

KKT pedals (NOS)

Sugino 175 cranks

Pro-Neck chainring

Tioga bottom bracket (NOS)

In recent times I took the bike apart and sold many of the aforementioned components, keeping the frame, forks and handlebars.
