This is my 1986 GT Pro Performer, Serial # DS 60 704036.  My collecting of BMX Bikes started with my son seeing my 1976 DG Racer II in the garage of my mother’s house and saying what a junky old bike.  Well that made me want to restore the DG and with the help and curse of E-Bay I was off and running.  Once the DG was restored I found my self-wanting to collect all the BMX bikes that I had as a kid.   After finding and restoring a 79 Mongoose Team Bike, I started looking for a Webco.  After the Webco I started looking for a Littlejohn (1974-75) and a Dan Gurney monoshock (1974-75).  Well I am still looking for these two bikes as frames to build up, so any help (with in reason and not causing me a divorce) would be great!  Now after building my way through the 70”s and 80”s it is time for 90’s.

This bike came to me by a good friend telling me that a guy had a lot of bikes and parts he wanted to sell.  To my surprise (almost lost it) the images of the parts shown here contained a number of really great bikes.  This is the first of my purchases to be finished.  These type GT’s really take me back in time. I tried my hand at flatland riding , only had a few tricks but it was a lot of fun.

A few years ago Eddie signed a shirt at an event for my son, which got both of us thinking that we really should build a GT Performer.  Now we really hope he can sign our bike.  I am still looking for a correct frame and fork standers to really make it perfect.
