1988 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model
This build started off as just a FS stamped Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model frame which has the lighter shade of blue from 1987 but came with 88 decals. With my intentions of this bike being a rider for flatland, the first thing I did was CAREFULLY open up the dropouts to 14 millimeters. I then got a chrome set of 1998 GT Performer forks, which have 990 mounts already welded on, and opened up the fork dropouts too. I installed an NOS chrome Odyssey Gyro and coupled the front of the bike together with a nice survivor white GT mallet stem that is stamped 6/87. The handlebars are NOS GT Vert bars stamped 10/00. The braking is accomplished with Dia Compe Tech 77 levers from Porkchop BMX and the calipers are silver Dia Tech Hombres with the Fiesta brake pad upgrade from Dans Comp. All the braking components are connected via new Odyssey slic and gyro cables. This bike is propelled using a GT Winged Power Disc and a GT stamped 43 tooth silver chainwheel. The rear wheel is driven by brand new 170mm Primo Powerbite cranks that I JUST got from a museum member this past week. KHE stimulator pedals are where I'll be placing my feet when they are not on the chrome GT footpegs in the front or the Black Ops plastic pegs in the rear. A KMC white and nickel chain connect the rear wheel to the drive system. The wheels also came from a museum member and are sealed bearing no-name hubs with Alienation 440 rims. The tires are Chase Gouin's 100 PSI Odyssey Frequency G's. In between tricks I'm sitting on a white survivor 87 GT seat that sits on top of a black 22.6 millimeter GT stamped layback seatpost that is clamped in the frame using a GT double seatpost clamp off of a 1995 Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model. Wow, that was hard to write! I think I'm going to go ride it now! Let me know what you guys think of it and thanks for looking!
