I bought this old school bmx 1984 GT Nora Cup from a BMX museum member easkeybikes (Sean) in July 2019...Thank you. He bought it about 4 years ago (2015). He stated that it was a real ugly duckling, yellow tuff wheels and covered in dust, see last image posted above. He was only after the frame and fork. The only remaining parts are the seat and seatpost. Everything else he either had on hand or purchased specifically for this bike. He wanted to make a tribute bike of sorts for a friend he grew up with in Ireland (He lived there for 5 years) He had a black and gold Raleigh Ultra Burner and his parents bought him a GT frame and fork for christmas 1983. He helped him swap all of the parts over from the burner to the GT. Anyhow, once he did the tribute , he started sourcing parts to finish the bike the way he would have done it back in the 80's This 1984 Nora Cup GT is an early 1984 model sold only as a frame and (undrilled) fork. When GT started coming out with the complete bikes "Pro Series" "Mach One" etc. later that year, the angled "bologna cut" appeared for the first time The rear brake bridge setup is flat in the back, which is similar to the 1982 and 1983 frames, compared with later 1984 frames which had the rear brake bridge setup inclined / angled approx. 45 degrees in the back. The following year GT moved from Santa Ana to Huntington Beach. (1) January (84) 1984 (06x0) 6x0'th frame made that year? The 2nd photo is my younger brother and I. He is on the left with a mini Race Inc and I'm on the right Schwinn, The Sting was my 2nd BMX bike (I had a Scrambler for a year only before I cracked it). This was in the very beginning of our racing days. The 4th photo is our team photo, I was on the Southwest Outlaws, the bmx tracks team. It was more fun than anything else. We really raced for our state ABA rankings. I was number 9 that year. The goal was to be in the top 10! Which meant, a lot of racing and placing in the top 3 for points.
