2008 Dyno Divine
2008 Dyno Divine for my youngest daughter
We have another Divine, which belongs to my 10 year old daughter Sidney. I found this one for a good price on eBay. It will be ridden by my now 2-1/2 year old daughter Presley when she's old enough. This bike is 100% original, I only completely disassembled it and re-greased everything. Like the other Divine, one day it'll sport upgraded parts, because these bikes leave a lot to be desired in their stock configuration. I will admit the wheels on both Divines are solid and spin perfectly true. The frames seem ok. It's the brakes (cheap hollow moldings), forks (plain Jane), levers (plastic), cables (not branded), chain (unbranded) and chain wheel (looks like a Vertigo but an unbranded, bad stamping) that seem low quality. I also tried to put chain tensioners on it like the boys' bikes (Christmas gift) but the wheel will only work in one spot...tensioners just can't happen. Maybe I could've cut some metal but then there's that... The dinner plate size drop outs are a thing. At least Sidney got her pegs (see other Divine). The cranks are weird too, a lot of extra material above where the pedals thread in. I'm borderline ready to just give them an actual old school bike but she is perfectly happy with this. It's still two steps up from new school Walmart Mongoose junk. I actually bought 3 of those in 2016 and ended up giving them away. It's all good though, it seems to be holding up just fine so far, I have test ridden them both and I weigh over 200 lbs. Thanks for looking.
