1980 Diamond Back Large Pro

1980 Diamond Back Large Pro

Bought this bike from eBay in April 2009 as an "unfinished project."

The seller had "sanded" back the frame and bars, ready for re-chroming.
They had a Diamond Back stamped yellow Kashimax (that I have stashed away now), Tracer cranks, a few levers, and a single gold Araya 7X rim, but no forks.
Seeing the theme was to be going yellow and I had most of the parts, I stayed with that colour.
So I had no choice but to get the frame and bars re-chromed, this is the only bike I own that has been "fully restored" I guess.
This one was my "carpet queen" I guess, started out life with me running gold Araya 7X rims (a set I bought from eBay) and yellow Kenda Comp III's.
Tracer cranks that just "gave up," used the yellow stamped Diamond Back Kashimax for a while, had black and yellow chequered Flite pads on it too.
Found a NOS set of TRX forks from Universe Cycles in Parramatta, NSW, Australia too. Snapped those up quickly.
Bought black Sugino Diamond Back stamped stem from eBay as well.
Rode it a few times but didn't really like the way it was as it was sitting.
Decided to make it more of a "rider" and I switched to Redline Flite cranks and run re-issue Tuff 2's.
This is how it is now.
