1983 Concord Demon
Entry level BMX. It's said that Giant may have produced these for Concord; however several parts (chain guard, wheels, etc.) are the same as some Schwinn bikes of he era.
After several years I've finally got this one put together. I received a bike just like this as my 1st BMX when I was 5 or 6 years old. I started with a reasonably complete bike (less chain guard) off eBay and began by disassembling it to assess what parts were needed. The frame was blasted and powder coated the perfect shade of metallic red (found underneath the head tube badge). All black painted parts were also blasted and powder coated. Reproduction decals were made by Stephen Dobson at Esemdesign. I was able to find NOS grips, pedals, cross bar pad, sprocket, and an original chain guard and head tube badge on eBay. The BMX Guru supplied red 20 x 1.75 snakebelly tires. This bike is as close to stock as I could make it with the only known change being a JP freewheel conversion and the addition of a hand brake. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy.
