1980 Blazer Mini
Bought this Blazer Mini frame with a Navajo fork a few years back. It was spray bombed green and primer amongst other colors when I got it. I was told it had remnants of a brass finish. I cleaned off the spray paint and found it was never finished in brass. From the small fragments I could find on it, it looks like it was originally a dark red. The serial number is #3. For those that don't know, serial numbers on Blazers mean nothing. Blazer kept boxes of pre stamped dropouts that the builders grabbed out of randomly. They're just random numbers. Based on how this one is built I would date it somewhere around 1979-1981. This is based on the head tube, seat stays to seat tube, and dropouts. Later frames had machined head tubes, a gusset in-between the seat stays where they meet the seat tube and slightly different dropouts. I ended up coating the frame with Penetrol to keep the natural metal finish. Also put on some new decals. The stem is a one off or possibly a concept piece that resembles a Tuff Neck 4.9 stem. Headset is a Stronglight. Has a OMAS titanium bottom bracket. Suntour 152mm cranks with a Suntour 39t ring. Pedals are Hare with aluminum spindles. Chain is a Regina Extra Superleggera hollow pin. Powerlite Powerbend bars. Competition V and Panaracer Conquerer sewup tires on Nisi hard anno rims. Suzue hubs. Shimano 333 freewheel. Dia Compe 630 caliper. Kool Stop pads. Second get Uni Hammerhead seat.
