I can't say for sure that it was " higher end" but I know it was more rare. I think this was ment to take sales from mongoose back on the day. It's quality built for its day. The wheels are good unsealed rollers that keep this a rider.
these were built for Takara by Kuwahara bike co in Japan. Can't say that its the same co that builds the original transformer or not, but it sure would be way cool to find out. Sweet paint sceam as this done up as prime or megatron.....:lol:
I think some one did, I had one like this that had a funky large stamped into it in almost the same way. I was at a friends house showing it off and his dad who was there, a 60 year old retired sheriff deputy said that mine had been stolen, recovered and not claimed. Then it went to auction where it was restamped and sold. The stamp was to show it was no longer "Hot" and would match the new buyers paper work and the copy the cops had.....if this is what it looks like, its rare as most Hot ones never got recovered or returned.
I got to check this out this weekend and ofmg is it a real cherry. If you want to buy a real race show bike from back in the day, this is the one. You won't find one as perfect any where and not for this price. Hands down a real 10 outa 10!!
