79Supergoose. Your green forks are exactly the same as mine, except for the home cooked brake hole drilling.  That's interesting.  Thanks for the reference to your pics.

THAT IS IN GREAT SHAPE "YES" I MIGHT JUST  BE 12 BUT I KNOW ALL OF THAT STUFF I ALWAYS TRY TO GET ONE  BUT I WANT MINE IN CHROME:) BUT ALL I SEEM TO FIND IS IMATATION HUTCH'S  BUT... AT LEAST THERE LOOPTAIL

so i can compare them for ya.  Also ive heard straight from Profile Racing that in 1981 the were making all of hutchs frames ..So your's  can possibly be a 82   but you know how near impossible it is to ever really know correct years from 81 to 83 with hutch.

OH just remembered to be a MCS frame your frame would have a cutout in the bottom plate of the rear chainstay ...Theres a pic of one in the pandora hutch website .BUT    as you say your forks have been drilledout !! ...(figures ) meaning they were once Non drilled same as mine       they sound like the same forks i have and are most likely MCS forks too.

AS for your high chain stay            thats a mystery for sure                very cool frame with that double stamp   will be a unique   build no doubt

I'm just browsing around trying to educate myself and this caught my eye.  If you look at the 81 Hutch Special K Junior Replica in the museum, you'll notice that the seat-stays are extremely high on that too.  I know yours is not a Junior, but just took notice of the seat-stays.  There are so many inconsistancies with Hutchs from '80-83', such as the brake bridge.  I just posted my Hutch Junior Racer to the museum.  So I went to take a look at 79supergoose and noticed his brake bridge is also mounted where ours is.  If you take a close look at other Hutchs, you'll see the brake bridge set further in to the seat-stay.  Since mine was powdercoated, we seem to think our brake bridge was replaced.  So... from the stamped to no stamped, to high/low seat stays, to serial/no serial number... I guess it will always be a mystery, huh?  Regardless, they are beautiful bikes.  I love mine... and I enjoy riding it!

I don't think we will ever know what was made when or for what reason.  Just adds to the mystery and popularity of the brand I guess.  I love them as well.  Takes me back to childhood!

According to JDB, all the 81's brake bridge's "Hutch" were ingraved, NOT stamped, and with the drilled forks(YOU say they were drilled after), you have an 83' or later.
But I guess the owner of Hutch could be wrong...

Thanks for the advice guys.  I really don't know what year it is, but it doesn't bother me too much.  I just love the individuality of it.  I will never sell it, so value doesn't concern me.

This is a very slow build and I am just building the wheels up now.  NOS Chrome Araya Aero rims, NOS Bullseye hubs with red anno centres and polished flanges, S/S spokes with red anno nipples!   Can't wait to finish them.

Nope.  Unfortunately it's still on the go.  I wish it was finished so I could ride her!
