1977 CYC Stormer
1977 CYC Stormer
Admin Note: 12-28-76 would mean this sold as a 1977 model.
I bought this over 20 years ago for $6.00. Held on to this knowing it was special some how. Didn't know exactly what it was tell I found one on ebay of all places. Looked it up here and on the CYC site linked through here. Its so nice to put a "name with a face" after all these years. Whats cool here is its dated. Stamped on the right rear is "12-28-76" in small stamp, and on the left rear is "1198" in larger stamp. Really had to go through at least 3 coats of paint to find th serial #.

Good to see here! Is that a single or double gusset frame?

Re: 1977 CYC Stormer
This is a double front gusset frame. these are the stock BB cups. Possably gona build this again, only go with an "Ames upgrade" or every thing as late and top of the line as I can get my hands on. (sealed, titanium, chromoly, paul, ect...) tough to decide cause i just got a pair of early gold ARAYA rims with SUNSHINE hubs, early cap bottom REDLINE forks, and a near mint red TUF NECK!

Re: 1977 CYC Stormer
I think the flat brake bridge was on the "Early" ones and the curved came after. both of mine have the flat one and are both dated early. But just like many other bike companies, thay may have had "hold overs" in there build process that put flat brake bridges on later frames.

Re: 1977 CYC Stormer
Blasted this today, was soooo happy to see it has no brakes or carnage! All the spray bomb and OG paint flew off to show sweet fresh metal. Gona go with paint on this to bring out the real beauty.

Just picked up the forks for this, just like the curved end Tange's but straight leg ones! Taking this build way slow, had it for this long can't screw it up now!
