I wouldn't even want to guess. If I'm asking 600.00 for a complete 1982 GT bike, I can only imagine what thats worth.... Do you have the stand, wall plack and all the other cool stuff?
again, its a bow down machine

Re: 1979 DG California Pro
I used to have a yellow Jeff bottema replica with blue forks that I raced in Portland - DG's were the best - always fighting off the FMF's - I used to race a guy named "Stinkowitz" who had a silver FMF. But I digress - Your bike is way cool - I remember when those Cali Pros came out - I wanted one soo bad. Keep it running.

I also weep at the price since I know I can never afford it. A true grail.

Re: 1979 DG California Pro
i dig the black and gold scheme. very, very nice bike!
"You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill!"

Re: 1979 DG California Pro
I knew a guy in Springfield, Oregon who had one nearly identical. The sickest bike I ever saw as a kid...never forgot it and I'm trying to build one just like it. That kid was few years older than me and was my absolute idol. He wanted to sell it to me for $300.00 back in 82, but the folks wouldn't let me have it...sigh. So now I gotta try and build it and I can't even find a frame let alone the gold bullseye hubs to go on it.
I'd rather beg for forgiveness, than ask for permission.

Re: 1979 DG California Pro
Like said below this is the holy grail of bmx's, I've never seen one in the flesh but what a beauty. I would stick that up on my lounge wall to my wife's disgust. Come to think of it do you want to trade it against my wife then I can put it on the lounge wall and just admire it.

Wow...what a blast from the past....I rode one of these beautiful bikes for several years in the late '70's out of NJ. Loved that bike, brings back great memories seeing one....wish I still had her...

Re: 1979 DG California Pro
I forgot about that bike until I saw this one. I instantly remembered reading about it in BMXA. What a beauty.
Love to see more pics. Especially love to see some close ups of those cranks. I remember reading about those and thinking that was the coolest bike part ever. I even tried to custom paint my own cranks. I did a sucky job and too the paint off immediately.

Re: 1979 DG California Pro
Wow, don't know if your still around or have this DG.
But, wow it's a great looking bike.
I'm looking for the following frames, frame & forks or completes by BMX products:
MotoTrac (nickle or chrome), Racer-X or a Super-X (with the double gussets preferred).
Thanks
I'm also johnng23604 at "Retro-goose", "VintageBMX" & "RADbmx"

Re: 1979 DG California Pro
I just found the ad and article about this bike. Do you have the custom-made haro plate, too?

Very nice ride!! ![]()
Gnarly is when it's beyond radical, it's balls out danger, & or perfection, & or skill or all of that combined. Nobody can shred like that guy, he's gnarly. \m/ ( º . º ) \m/
