Bam! thanks Crash, I had narrowed things down to an MCS. Just wasn't sure on model.

Hey now, my 1996 Haro was mid-school and had a quill stem. I would never label anything that different from Old-school...old-school.

Re: Mid School Unknown

threaded HT in 1996 isn't MS; it's carry-over OS.

Unfortunately there is no clear definition on this ageless discussion. Some continue to argue that old school ends at 1989, midschool was 1990-1999 and new school is 2000 to now. Drives me nuts. I like the way you have identified it. I wish someone would just "publish" a guideline we could all live from. Old/Mid/New with sub categories for the carry overs that fit within each like the oldschool carry over in the midschool time frame...

Chainwheel teeth ÷ freewheel teeth x wheel diameter in inches = gear inches.

Re: Mid School Unknown

Looks like either MCS or Cyclecraft to me.  As far as the stem goes, is doesn't look like the cap matches the base -- in other words, old school base with a mid school cap.  At least that's what I think I'm seeing.

I can't take credit.  Someone else posted it up.  To me, the best split is:

OS = Threaded
MS = Threadless
NS = Integrated

I've never heard of an MCS Rocket, but it sure does look like a 1992 Magnum Pro

Not an MCS Rocket. A Rocket.

Re: Mid School Unknown

So it's a 1992 Rocket that just happens to look like an MCS Magnum Pro (they do look similar), but with MCS forks? Why would we suspect the frame and forks weren't both MCS?

Re: Mid School Unknown

Sorry, not a Rocket, Rocket chainstays go over the ends of the seat stays, and MCS seat stays go over the end of the chain stays.
