Re: 1987 GT Performer
Thanks, Louie. I think I can finally say this bike is complete. HAHAHA!!!! Who am I kidding? I always ask myself "What would it look like with this part?"I never stop buying parts for any of my bikes! Or any parts just to hold onto for that "future build".
Some people need to get down off of their crosses, use the wood to build a bridge and GET OVER IT!!!!
I don't build bikes. I just assemble them.

Re: 1987 GT Performer
hey dude that isnt a 87. but it is a really nice bike. it looks like an 86 because 87's had the double curve in the downtube.
Gotta get my hands on more bikes!

Dude, thanks, but it's an 87. With 86 decals. Just like it says in the first post. The Performer didn't have the double bend down tube. The PRO Performer did.

Re: 1987 GT Performer
I have an 87 also that has an FS under the seraial # on the rear dropout. Does yours also. I thought that only Pro FS Tours had this stamp. Any help would be welcome.
Nevermind its settled, FS stamp means nothing really it came on some Performers too.

Re: 1987 GT Performer
djd93306, yours is a Pro Freestyle Tour. The 87 Performer's had 10 digits in the serial number, and no ID letters. The double bend GT's in 87 had to be identified, as PFT's or Pro Performer's.
His 87 will have a 10 digit serial on the left dropout and no letters. Yours will include the FS marks to ID it as a Pro Freestyle Tour.

Just do what you're gonna do. You're gonna do it anyways. Just be safe doing it.

I think ive found that what the rear dropout FS means, they put abreviations for the model of the bike in santa ana, and the ones that are on the rear dropout without the FS are made in Huntington Beach.I have this bike listed now as well as a 87 that started out Pro Performer,it has the FS too.Heres the links,
