Re: 7th Annual Chicagoland Old School Shootout

Joe its not a 24. To top it off it's not even complete ! That same bike has won best of show there for the last 2 or 3 years now. We quit showing a few years back as you just cannot compete with 40 of his friends voting for that bike. You are spot on in your question but I think you already knew the answer.

Never been to that show T . Not that It is all about winning a trophy or ribbon.  Just saw a bunch of dialed in top notch builds in the pics. Guess it threw me for a loop. Nothing against Elf's either since you know how I feel about yours.

I feel the same way as you do. There was some awesomeness there as usual that got ZERO credit. An incomplete bike wins best in show ? You know how I feel about this. Yet another reason I stepped away...... so I can just Enjoy and ride them.

P.S. Not a fan of Popcan Elves !

There is something unusual with the look of that ELF though. Look at the rear triangle down tubes. Aero.  Is this a prototype or something fellas?

Enjoy and Ride  vs. Show and Shine. . . .wink

Either way it's fun to sit in on the debate.

The Elf won best of show at a past show not this one.  The trophy was just part of the display.  Voting was based on applause.  It came down to a sweet white and gold Hutch and a Nice Robinson I believe.  The Robinson won.

Re: 7th Annual Chicagoland Old School Shootout

It was a fun day. Nice to see some of you agian. As for the show and trophies, I was a little surprised myself by the winners but it was done by vote, so was as fair as could be imo. I brought a bike and entered it but didn’t make the cut. Competition was tough...

We have so much more to share, but I get little to no time to share it. I hope to get quite a bit more out today. Thanks for patients if your inquiring about additional photos

Re: 7th Annual Chicagoland Old School Shootout

Best In Show: was voted on from the pool of those who 1st there category.  It was a crowd participation event. Not to take away from the winner....but it was late in a very hot day, and lots of folks were packed up and leaving or just didn't bother to participate. I to agree that for my taste I seen tons of killer bikes, but voting registration and results we all done organically. Jim did a great job host the Rad Ride Bike Show.

Next year I will be looking to host a panel of judges from bmx royalty...stay tune! Once again everyone thanks for coming out and having fun. I only had weeks to put this together.
