How many gt's are you going to get with blue z rims big_smile

IDK how many i am gonna get, crazy...
With that being said i've been really enjoying spending my time cleaning, shining, greasin these days.

The original bike in the point of this thread is in such beautiful condition i feel invigorated.

That DK platform is one rare find! I like the bike as is. It shows the transition of bmx...as freestyle got popular we didnt run out and buy new bikes, we ditched the number plates and slapped pegs n standers on ours. Sweet score fo' sho!

+1 I was thinking the same thing. My Kuwahara Lazerlite got standers and a gyro in the transition.

Replaced the tires with some GT tires I had collecting dust and have the original blue rear cable. Freestyle stuff had to go though. Luckily the postman was by today with a blue Redneck stem I recently grabbed so I was able to throw my old shiny one on it.

Not sure of the red chain but I also have a chrome one soaking in prep for cleaning.

Re: Check out this GT i found...

Yes, freestyle tires were all I had that kinda went with it but I have since ordered a set of them reproduction Comp 3’s. Also waiting on a nice gold Tange headset lock which may be here today along with the tires.

After combining the 2 bikes and selling off a few items from them I am into this as it sits for nothing (actually still at a profit)

The drivetrain on this is outstanding, after cleaning the Bullseye bottom bracket it is amazing how well it rolls.

Re: Check out this GT i found...

Soz for the belated reply. That blue and chrome chain is the same as the one I used on my Quad 24. I like it. Very subtle touch of blue smile

I do dig that black one, and props for your wonderful resto skills. Those Zs look beautiful smile

Re: Check out this GT i found...

Tires and headlock came today.
Thanks to members took12 and the Re-CYCLE Bike Shop

This thing is shining like a new dime with all survivor parts from 83-85 aside from the NOS headlock and re-issue tires and grips.

Re: Check out this GT i found...

Went ahead and ordered some ACS Z rim stencils (not the stickers) and gonna give painting the logo on the sides a shot.
http://bmxmuseum.com/forsale/250472

In prep I took the rims off and tripped over these tuffs so I threw em on for shits and giggles.

80’s bikes are like cool art to me
