1983 Schwinn Predator Team 24

One of the most underrated and undervalued bikes out there.  My first cruiser, and could not be happier.  This is a nice bike!

I have been looking for a cruiser for quite a while and finally found one.  It's a 1983 Schwinn Predator Team 24, and is nearly all original except for tires, and grips .. perhaps the pedals as well .. not sure. Thanks to forum member Bad Attitude, I was able to add this beauty to my collection for a reasonable price.  The thing that sticks out to me the most is the super cool Atari font decals.  In my opinion they are iconic, really awesome!!  I feel the early 80's Schwinn products are pretty underrated, and I'm not quite sure why that is.  This is full Chromoly, just like other more highly regarded bikes of the era.  I happen to think this is one excellent ride! Well, let me know what you think of this one, and thanks for taking the time to check it out.

These are cool. Used to see all the Schwinn's back in the '80's as we had a major Schwinn dealer in my hometown. Sting's, Predator's, Scrambler's of all types. Cool bikes.

They are underrated for sure, but then again so are Torker's, Race Inc's and a few other brands I can't remember right now.

Re: 1983 Schwinn Predator Team 24

I was talking to "Primo" at Webster Bicycles today ( I forgot his real name but he calls everyone primo so it's his nickname) he was sponsored by Webster bikes in the early 1980's and really wanted to race the Team 24" because it was lighter and handled better than the Redline cruiser. He said they were popular among serious racers because of that. He ended up being issued a Redline cruiser in the end. I'm looking for a team 24 myself. I already have the 1983 20" and Pit-bike. The 1983 Predator Crmo Free was my first real bmx bike. Man I loved it!

Re: 1983 Schwinn Predator Team 24

I was lucky enough to score a second one of these, an OG '83 Team 24 from my good buddy John Bradley... It is AWESOME, but I need to get some different tires on it... It's ALL og except tires, cables, brake pads and grips, you know, the soft goods that need replaced regularly on bikes... VERY HAPPY with it...
