Close 5 shutting down
So, I watch and use Close 5 sometimes. It is like Offer Up/Craigslist if you didn't know. They are shutting down at the end of this month. To move to eBay?
To our Close5 Community,
eBay developed Close5 to change the way people buy & sell locally. Today, we’re excited to announce that the team behind Close5 will now utilize its expertise to strengthen the local experience on eBay. This brings together the trust and services you know and expect from eBay with Close5’s experience in local buying & selling. This means that Close5 will no longer be supported as a stand-alone application and website. Therefore, Close5 will no longer be available as of November 30, 2017.
We’d like to thank our loyal Close5 users & friends who have supported us throughout these past three years. It has been a wonderful experience that would not have been possible without all of you. It is our sincerest wish that you will continue buying & selling with us on eBay. Given you’ve helped shape Close5, we hope to have your feedback, encouragement and support once more as you buy and sell locally on eBay.
What does this mean for your Close5 account?
Close5 will no longer be available as of November 30, 2017. After this date, we will no longer support access to your Close5 account. We encourage you to complete any open transactions you may have before then and start buying & selling locally on eBay.
For any questions or concerns regarding Close5, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A million thanks to you all!
—The Close5 Team
Re: Close 5 shutting down
So Close 5 is like Kijiji? Kijiji was started by eBay and is the most popular buy/sell used goods platform in Canada. Too bad a good mobile platform hasn't taken hold in the US. This baffles me, and so does Craigslist's popularity.
