se racing pk ripper serial numbers

Hi all.  I'm sure this has been covered but I can't find much info!  As far as I am aware, PK Ripper serials were pretty much all over the place and often not particularly indicative of much!  However, my question is this.  Did any/many get made with no serials?  I am considering the purchase of a ?mid 80s (non-looptail) PK but it doesn't seem to have any serials.  It is a polished finish, so I suppose it could have been polished away, but surely you'd see some remnant!?  Were copies/fakes made?  It looks like the real deal with parts true to era.  Ideas?  Cheers.

first, make sure it is aluminum and not steel.  The serial number should be on the rear dropout, on the outside.  If you can, post some pictures.

I would guess that it is possible that a frame or two made it through without a serial number on it.  Some prototypes also didn't have serial numbers.

Some drop outs were stamped really lightly and could have got chewed if proper washers werent used. A photo would be best especially the rear half of the frame.

Re: se racing pk ripper serial numbers

Thanks to PJ for the help.  I will shortly post a bunch of pics, then pick brains about its restoration.  In the meantime, I'm just gonna get out there and ride it!!  Thanks gang, Mat.
