Re: 1976 Rampar
I wanted one of these soooo bad when I was a kid. Well . . . younger. I got one from a friend in high school. I bent a few axles on that thing. I put Skyway mags on it and had NO brakes. Ahhh the good ol' days when we were fearless and our parents paid the hospital co-pay! Awesome find, Gary! Thanks.
Some people need to get down off of their crosses, use the wood to build a bridge and GET OVER IT!!!!
I don't build bikes. I just assemble them.

Re: 1976 Rampar
awesome bike , For some reason not a whole lot of these are around and they are hard to find information on. I think a lot of it had to do with kids trying to find out how hard you could beat on the thing. If anyone has them Im looking for a tank , # plates and a front fender for mine

Re: 1976 Rampar
that bike is hard core chaos, I salivate at the thought of how cool it is to cruise down the main drag on one of these...when i was in grade 6 my friend had one..bought it as is (or was) for about 20 canadian dollars from a garage sale...my favourite thing i ever rode on...that was 10 years ago, loved it so much i bought the next moto bike i could get my paws on...biggest restoration ever...balded tires and a nice overcoat of jet black spray paint. we gave that bike hell and back....most of the stories about these bikes are true...kids just tried to demolish them, I think they are THE best thing since the invention OF the bike itself!!! try to find one, I've only seen one downtown in 10 years...if I'd been carrying bolt cutters...the jig would be up!
if anyone has one of these bikes...we have business to talk..and anyone that has one of these knows how hard it is to get them going again...the story about the bike in the creek is just too cool...I can't stop imagining your joy to find it there after so many years...keep on riding these bikes, they are legends larger than life to me. peace!
Even if they give away the old sandwiches at 711 for FREE after 9pm...you'll still pay for eating them later on!!!

Re: 1976 Rampar
I had one. I remember it being very heavy (at least for a 7 year old) and having really short cranks.
Nice find. I havent seen one in 30 years.
"That LiL Holeshot I built a couple years ago that took Best Mini was a nice bike, but I'll bet most people didn't even see the greatest thing about it. The frame and fork was in awesome condition, and when I started to build it I found residue of car wax in the welds. That means at one time long ago some little kid enjoyed that bike so much that he sat and stared at it while he waxed it to perfection. That's the kinda stuff I appreciate, and can relate to very well." John De Bruin-6/21/09

Can anyone provide information on repairing these bikes I have one. The handle bar clamps which attach to the frame are broken & I can't find replacements or anyone that knows about this bike.

Re: 1976 Rampar
My brother had one I want to saw he got it about 79, before we started to race & that was in 81.
All of us used to use it to jump as many thing as we possibly could on it. We would start at the end of the road, get up a good head of steam, hit our make shift ramp & go for it, many classic wipe outs. Don't know what ever happened to it, probably traded it for another bike? By the end the tank & fenders were broken & gone.
