Seems like everyone wants the frame og but after taking a closer look at it but I'll be honest and say that it is not in the best of shape. The pics do show the bike better than what it truly is. My plan is to gather all the parts and then decide the fate of it.

Tnx cool

Well, it depends on what you are looking for...  if you're looking for "Perfect", it probably isn't in great shape, but for a survivor of 25+ years, it clearly is in great shape.  During the late 80's, everyone started stripping their bikes of paint, and stickering them up like crazy.  Regardless, it's much harder to find a late 80s bike in nice shape.

You, and many others might think this RL20ii NEEDS to be refinished because of the paint...  I'd disagree 100%, it's 25 years old, I'd say it's in incredible shape!

It's up to you of course, what you want it to look like...  but everyone's idea of good condition is always different.

Another thing to think about is possibly trading that to someone who appreciates the OG paint/decals, and getting an already stripped one (Plenty around), and refinishing that one.

Definitely not wanting to flame this old debate up, just throwing some perspective out there.

Good luck either way!  smile

Nice redline amigo!
I understand what you are saying and I have learnt that an item is only original once, so the more I think about it the more I want to keep it og.
Tnx everyone.

Re: Score -- '88 Haro Master

Took the bike apart and I'm gonna be meeting jsngrimm later on to trade some parts. I'll be getting the Peregrine rims and the Group1 stem from him, tnx a mill.

I took a really good look at the frame and Im confident I'll get the spraybomb off of it with the stuff I have at work. Also the chrome is in really good condition and will clean up really nice.   I'll take the parts to work and take better pics and post the progress.

One question, what would have been the original seat clamp and chaining on this model? Was there a specific one or was it more a f/f setup for the owner to piece together?

Tnx for the help!

Orig. seat clamp for an 88 was a black anno peregrine w/o decal.
As for the sprocket, there were 2 options, depending on how u want to set up the bike:
#1 and my fav is the 2 piece uni-directional set up(chainring & powerdisk) in black anno(non team model).
#2 (team model spec) is the solid disk that is silver compact disk like look, w/ a black outer ring & it says "Haro".
Hope this helps:)

Re: Score -- '88 Haro Master

Hold on to that Dominator seat also...it could very well be the original one. My 88 came with one but I broke it against my ass on a two foot bunny hop over a wall....great find though. If I can't find mine, (just stolen from me) I will be looking for a new one.

Re: Score -- '88 Haro Master

^^ Thanks guys.
I cleaned out all the parts and I'm in the reassembly process. I promise to take better pics with my camera and post them once it's done. Only thing I need is the Peregrine clamp, tires, brake cables and brake pads.

Re: Score -- '88 Haro Master

Here's a crappy pic from a few weeks ago. I gotta get a different seat cause right now I'm using a Dyno one. The original has a slight crack on it and I don't want to chance it. It's also gonna get gumwall tires soon. I'll get better pics this weekend.

Re: Score -- '88 Haro Master

My 88 Master looked jus like that (but with the two tone black/chrome bars). It was stolen at the AFA Masters contest in Austin. : (  I had it for only two months.
