Re: 1994 Mongoose Expert

hey cool bike. i have the same one. it was beat to crap but ive been fixing it up and putting on a few custom color NOS parts for fun. I got some decals for it but i dont know where 2 of them go. maybe you can help me out? the decal set came with 3 of the circle mongoose animal logo ones (one for the bars, one for seat post) but where does the 3rd go? and there is a rectangle one that has a big '(R)" and says "race ready" with some other info about welds and stuff on t. any idea where these go? sorry for the long post

bars, seat post and seat post tube.
Im thinking about picking one up I found (an 94), but it looks like the Expert is all mild steel (Hi Ten) or is it Tri-Moly?

Re: 1994 Mongoose Expert

I have two early to mid 90s experts and one is newer then the other the older one says it is full cromoly the newer one says its only cromo maintubes.
I built the older one up using a mix of parts from both and will work on the newer one later on.
I plan to put the one I built in the museum as soon as i find the card for my camera.
as well as a few others I have built.
I have to say this is a sweet looking bike when built man mine is a cool dark flat gray with orange stickers and chrome forks the one I havent built is like the one in the museum chrome with red scallops at the front. gotta post some pics .....Where is that card?????

Re: 1994 Mongoose Expert

Or the wording on the older one could mean trimoly but the way I read it it says all cromoly its very vague.

Re: 1994 Mongoose Expert

I just picked one of these up for $20 bucks, all parts are there, but it has a dyno drain pipe seat post. The serial # is hffh00129, can you tell me your serial # so I can cross reference please?

I will post pics later as I clean it up and start putting it back together..............

Thanks, Shnapper.........
