acme BMX chain - Holyoke, MA USA

acme BMX chain - Holyoke, MA USA

I have been looking for a good quality US made BMX chain since I started collecting.

The best chain I could find was a Connex by Wippermann, but it is German.

My friends in the area had always told me about this locally made chain that was like a motorcycle chain, but for a BMX.

I live about 12 ninutes from where the chain used to be made.  They are no longer produced or available!

My LBS, Custom Cycle Bike Shop, Easthampton, MA hooked me up with a NOS acme BMX chain.

He also gave me 5-6 pamphlets and two master link tools.

Thanks Tom!

He got them locally, it's a great social network out here, lol!
I am very honored to get one, Tom really cherishes them.
Maybe we can get them to start up shop again.
I think a US built chain, with their patented ideas, would sell well.

That is really cool, acme BMX swag and chains are rare.
Great items to represent Massachusetts and BMX.

Re: acme BMX chain - Holyoke, MA USA

My buddy had one of these chains BITD. Still swears by them.

Only chain he couldn't/didn't stretch.

He twisted the rear stays on his T/A, instead. lol

I would love to find one for the 24" T/A tribute build I'm doing.

Thanks for the cool story.
My friends swear by them too!
I wish they still made them.

I have a nos one on my Kastan. They are awesome chains I ran one on my MCS Styler for years. I would love to get my hands on one of those fliers or at least a scan.

It's good to hear the chains are still going strong and being used after all these years.
