Re: S&M hoarders unite

I was gonna say it looks a bit longer in the front end than mine does. The break lever brings back some old memories for me..haha, always used to bend em like that...until i learn turn downs...

Re: S&M hoarders unite

I found these bars on an old racer.  Bike looks to have been built around 91.  These bars have 2" knurling.  Are they just dancing man slams with a different sticker put on?

Re: S&M hoarders unite

Yours might be squarer along the bottom then mine.  I am uploading pics to PB now.  I have a pic comparing mine to uncut basketball slams, and dancing man slams, and neither match these new bars.  These new ones are 30" uncut, and higher from the knurling to the crossbar then the basketballs, or dancers.

Pics to come.

Well there were a few companies that made these early ones as you probably already know. From that sticker though you can pretty much but they're Pre-1990 Slams.

Re: S&M hoarders unite

Excuse the crap pictures.  Dim lighting, and a dirty floor.

All 3 bars are uncut.  Mystery bars up top, dancing slams in the middle, basketball slams at the bottom.  Same kind of knurling, but the top bars are wider, narrower at the bottom, and higher from the knurling to the cross bar.

I took more pics, but the dim lighting made them come out like crap.  I'll snap some in the daylight tomorrow.  I am pretty confident you are right.  These are some variation of 90ish/pre-90's slam bars.  They are uncut, and in fantastic shape.  Just grease and melted grip all over them.

Would love to find an old Mad Dog, Holmes and Platform Dirt Bike.  I'd like some 1st Gen Slams.  I also need to find some stickers for an HAF and an early Challenger.  Is anyone doing repops?

I lay the bars flat on the table, and use the tables edge to make a straight line across the top of the bars from center of the grip to center of the grip.  Then I measure from halfway through the knurling, up to the tables edge.  Using that method, they have a rise of about 9 1/2".

If I use bmxerpete's method, and sand the bars upright on the table...measuring from the table top to the bottom of the grip area, then they are just about 9".

Who has a good place I can buy a 14mm rear wheel with a 10 or 11T driver for my 24" without flushing my budget?

Doesn't seem the big sites cater to the big wheel crowd much. Just need a rear.
