The Lebanon shop is Long gone Albany is still there.... We also had a shop called Peddle pushers in Lebanon and they carried Race Inc, Raleigh, and Mongoose. They were gone in the late 80's. I still want to track the old man down that owned it (he still is in town somewhere) LOTS of good memories from those shops. My uncle managed the Lebanon Bike N Hike so I was in there constantly.

My local bike shop isn't local to me but when I am in montreal I go there. In the 90's when I was 14-15 I was always there. They used to let me screw around and fix stuff on my bikes in the back. I learned a lot there and the last bike I had bought there was a 1998 Haro Supra new in 1998. I was there a month ago after not stepping in for over 5 years and the owners reconized me on sight. They were good guys I used to go there after high school all the time and it kept me out of a lot of trouble.

Mcwhinnies Bikes in NDG Montreal. Ask for Bruno short little italian guy. Sold me a bnib pink hutch trick star for 40$ bitd circa 1997-1998. And no I asked if there was anything left.

I got really lucky when I started collecting in the 90's and got to pick a lot of stuff
from the inventories of several of these old shops before they completely disappeared. Nobody else wanted the stuff and a couple of the shop owners couldn't believe I wanted that old stuff.

Very close to Devonshire Downs BMX track, we would also meet there and ride to the Teen Center BMX track on the weekends.

Spent much of my childhood fortune with Sam, Steve and John. Worth every penny!
I would change flats and sweep in trade for parts when cash was low. They always gave me discounts and sponsored me for a short while.
Bought my Kos Kruiser from Steve.

There was also a shop on Roscoe just east of Balboa right at the S across from Pepe's go-karts, which I can't remember the name of, long gone. It is where my dad took me and bought me my Team Mongoose. Very cool shop. Tough location..

Do you remember the bike shop next to the poster store called THE CAMP in EAST RUTHERFORD NJ. It was all mongoose and proclass. We would go there first and drool over the bikes then go to the Camp. In the back was a black room with a black lite and the posters would glo. It was like being in outer space i never seen anything like that. Then we would check out the records and albums and there was a case with all rock n roll pins my faverite pin was disco sucks and i hate Munudo. I really miss them days.

Another place that had a huge stock of Thruster's was "The Bike Pad" located in Hawthorne N.J. which i frequented alot when visiting friends. Incredible place it was indeed and the store in which i bought my first and only Tri Power Thruster.
Almost forgot it's been so many years. There was a really popular shop not far from the one in Parkridge. I believe it was called "Westwood Cyle" in Westwood N.J.. I used to buy alot of bits and pieces from them..cool shop!!

Socool, Westwood Cycle was owned by my grandfather, when he retired in the early 80's my uncle took over. Was big with Bmx, freestyle and skateboards. He had the Gt team, Haro, and Bmx Action(?) teams there for demos. Fred blood gave me his quad one summer! I mus have been 15 getting buzzed on drinks Ron Wilkerson would give me when we all went out for Chinese, man, crazy memories!

I bugged my dad everytime we drove by that bike shop for that green Sting Ray in the window.
Got it for my birthday. Thanks to this thread I am once again looking in those store windows.

Do you remember who the pro was? My uncle owns Westwood Cycle! Maybe Charlie Lipski?

Amber Cycle and Westwood Cycle had great shows. Westwood Cycle also had a few Wilkerson Freestyle Clinics. Charlie's had great contests, jam sessions etc.

Where in NJ were you from? My uncle owns Westwood Cycle, those vshows were great, ever make it to the ones that RL was at?
