Bones, as someone brought up before, I have to apologize for any comments I made that you might have taken as criticism. Getting your frameset a whopping month before anyone else was a double edged sword. There are/were thousands of eyes on your build and yours alone, so you got alot of comments good or bad. Christ, if mine was 'the one' and I was in your position, Im certain I would have recieved alot of crappy comments for my choice of parts. Regardless, there was really no reason for planet bmx to ship ONE measly frame out while all others continue to wait......its like offering the only woman for miles to one guy in a prison full of inmates while the others watch and wait for the rest of pack of ladies to arrive!!
I am just stoked these frames finally materialized. So Ed.....just goahead and send me mine from CA, Ill put stickers on no problem:cool:
Lol. I can take it. But thanks for the kind words. I just got lucky. I'd be doing the same thing too if I wasn't the first one to get it.
Everyone has different opinions and that's ok by me.
The only thing that kills me is people putting down skyway and the reason to build this. Why not build it. Does everything have to be the same. An old company isn't allowed to build a new bike? Those are the only comments that get me going sometimes.
I have the damn bike and I'm still antsy to see more. I can't wait to see all the different ways these are built up. Same colors or not!! They are badass and I don't think anyone will be disappointed at all. If you live the old ta's you'll love this too. It stays true to the brand!!!!
And I'll add this fact. Skyway has NEVER changed ownership, or their address. The guys there today are the same as 35 years ago! Some have been there even longer. BMX has always been in their blood, that is evident the minute you walk in the front lobby doors there and see all of the BMX trophies that still are on display there. There are BMX frames in almost every room and office there. And the walls still display Stu Thompson and Andy Patterson posters and wall murals!
Here a picture of Skyway's president Ken Coster, and Skyway's head of engineering, Rein Stoltz. Rein designed the VERY first Skyway T/A back in the early 80's, and was the man that saw this project through the drawing stages through completion 30 years later on the very same drawing board!
I don't know of ANYBODY from ANY BMX COMPANY that can say the same! If there is any truly legit BMX comeback from an older BMX company, it's Skyway!

Re: SKYWAYs NEW BIKE; Wa wa?
Totally agreed. This is NOTHING like some yahoo buying rights and firing up the production line once again. Skyway has been doing what they have been doing for many years. So what if they shelved the frame and fork business for a while. The fact that they are still doing business since their inception decades ago means they adapted to market conditions. Lets face it, BMX all but died for a block of years. Skyway had the prescence of mind to do whatever it took to make items that would sell....even wheelbarrel wheels;)

Second one on the right, with the White TA and blue Tuffs....
Those look like the new Retro Cruiser bars. Those are probably the prototype bars.
That's really cool you get to cruise around like that!
Go Buckeyes.

Diestelhorst Bridge. Great place to jump off in the summer. Straight into the freezing cold Sacramento River!
The new frames look great.

I'll repost this, from August 14th. Skyway took delivery of the framesets, and started the inspection process--- It will take longer than the 4 days so far to inspect in detail 700 frameset, and apply decals!
I do expect to have a few pallets of framesets leaving there this Tuesday, though.
Here is Rein and Ken from Skyway holding serial number #001 ! These two guys have been making cool stuff happen at Skyway for nearly 40 years! Cool.....!
Here is a frameset being inspected and stickered up! Each frameset is thoroughly looked over and checked out before given the ok!

Re: SKYWAYs NEW BIKE; Wa wa?
Lord, given the sheer numbers of framesets, wouldnt it make sense to ship out some eaxh day starting LAST WEEK? As like 10 or 20 are decaled....ship those beeotches out to FL, only to have to be shipped across the country AGAIN to us west coasters
Looking for a PRO CONCEPT frame decal set
