Re: Old school, mid school, new school... what is when? YOU DECIDE!!
"Old School" means the beginning of a certain way of life, not necessarily the age of the item. With BMX, the 70's and early 80's will always be "Old School" and with Freestyle, the 80's will always be "Old School" you can't change the time period when something started.
Old School Hot Rods will always be the late 40's and 50"s, Old School Customs will always be the 50's, and Old School Drag Racing will always be the 50's and 60's, Items get older, and they may become "Classics" "Vintage" "Antiques" etc. but it can't change what is "Old School"
It seems the younger guys try and push Old School into the time period of their youth, and that is just not how it is.
I’m looking for a clean 1975 Mongoose (long) frame, and a nice original finish Mongoose Two/Four

Sounds good to me. Once the shift to more aggressive street riding (destroy your bike) came about in the late 80's early 90's, along with some less than aesthetically appealing frames and graphics came around is when I lost interest. I wasn't about to go wreck a $400- $500 bike just because. Well that and getting a drivers license.
Old & mid school is what I'm into now. Old because they still look awesome and mid because I can ride without breaking them. Most of the new bikes look the same to me. No distinctive frame designs like the 80's stuff.
I agree with that last statement Almost every frame fffered today looks like it was welded in the same factory.
YA they all look the same!

It will always depened on your age.
I'm 32, for me old school BMX is 94 and earlier. The first few years of the 90's were just the Real Late 80's to me
I think it's always like that as eras change they bleed into each other.
And I kind of look at the style for era.
Old School Race/Flatland
Mid School Dirt/Vert/Very Early Street
New School Park/Modern Street
Where the music stinks, and they water the drinks, at the nudie bar.
Where the girlies dance in their underpants, at the nudie bar.
Where you see their butt, and their trap stays shut, at the nudie bar.
Where you can’t touch a breast, but you can cave in a chest, at the nudie bar.
Where you look at a thigh, and blacken an eye, at the nudie bar.
Where a buck’s enough to see their stuff, at the nudie bar.
Where the breasts may be fake but man do they shake, at the nudie bar.
Where you swear like a sailor, and wish you could nail her, at the nudie bar.

early 90s frames still looked like the og ones from the 80s....Mid school around what 95+ is when the over tubing and over sized drop outs with intergraded head sets came around.
