Kuwahara BRAVO Score!!!

Well I don't know what's with all the Kuwahara scores lately but I picked this one up here today.  Some guy said he had a vintage bmx and this is the picture he sent me so I went and bought it.  It might be missing the front wheel but it has both sets of original pegs on it which are hard find if they're missing from what I've seen.

Re: Kuwahara BRAVO Score!!!

I got the PM's.  Unfortunately I will be keeping this one boys.  wink  I've always wanted one of these myself.  What I like about this particular Kuwi is there are only about 9 in the museum (that are posted anyway).  Kind of a rare breed this one.  Kind of wondering why Matt doesn't have his submitted though???

Well it definitely has the Bravo Pro Team decal on it which is original to the frame set.  The rear rim is a peregrine rim with peregrine hub.  I know the normal bravos only came with a Kuwahara power disk and all the team issues came with peregrine disks. My guess is the bravo pro teams came with either one piece or 3 piece cranks as an option.

Hey Matt, I noticed your frame is missing the frame standers on the back?  Did you remove them or did you get the frame like that?

Re: Kuwahara BRAVO Score!!!

Here is a pic of the Bravo Team decal that's on the bike.  So I guess they came with both 1 piece or 3 piece options for the Team Issue?  Maybe someone can confirm this?  Matt?

SICK SCORE
HERE IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION ON MATT'S STANDERS

Turn that frown upside down buddy. smile

The flimsy standers were chopped off back in the late 80s / early 90s, by a hardcore flatland rider, so that rear wheel rolling tricks (like Locomotives, Backyards, Stick-B's, Rope-a-ronis, Gyrators, DeathTrucks... etc)  could be done. As you can see - the bike has been well ridden after that modification - I'm 100% happy they're chopped off. The nubs where the framestanders connected to the frame and the paint missing in that area are all smoothed-out and polished just from years of sneaker movement... The wear on this bike has so much flatland soul.  I love it.

Here's a closer look..... So you don't have to roll — I mean strain your eyes so hard. tongue smile
