I live right near the electric blue but no really good places to hangout and cruise.  I have a huge warehouse in east hartford that i run an indoor paintball field out of that gots a huge parking lot but its gravely.  there are some nice abandoned warehouse parking lots that are paved over and have some basic freestyle areas like curbs and stuff but I can only control my parking lot.  as for riding in the area as a group i wouldnt go beyond the industrial park it sits in.

that sounds awesome . i live right nextdoor in manchester . if we do do this and you need help i'm here big_smile cool

we'll see what everone else has in mind for events.  i dont have a skate park or anything like that, basically and large gravel parking lot with half of it filled with buses.  it free though and available.  on a sunday the industrial park is pretty empty so we can ride around there.  its a small sized park with only a few streets, nothing huge.  you may know it, its prestige park in east hartford.  Its not to far from the highway or the mall.

Re: New Englanders itching to ride?

Shame Haven (indoor skatepark in North Haven, CT) got smashed during the Snopocalypse...hope they're up and running again soon.

Street riding in CT isn't too bad but sometimes you have to deal with cops and over zealous security guards- like everywhere else I guess.

Yeah!

I knew a guy that thought Dorf was a real....ah...little person. I asked how he thought he could fall back and spring right up like that. He didn't know.

Where the hell have you been! I've been trying to hunt down levers for you, lol tongue

I'm down for that. Its a haul for me but if we could pass the hat and rent the place out, I'll make the drive for a few hours of geezer ramp riding!

Re: New Englanders itching to ride?

Well, we got our April fools snow storm. Hopefully now we're done with snow and can think about riding.

Re: New Englanders itching to ride?

When we were in our 20's (had cars and licenses) we would occasionally go down to Boston at like 11pm and ride all over town until dawn. Boston after midnight is a wonderful, beautiful, and fairly dead city. We hardly saw anyone except for a few homeless peeps and a couple of drunk, mouthy college jerks. You can see so much without traffic or lots of pedestrians hampering you. That would be fun to do again...

Re: New Englanders itching to ride?

I used to ride my m-cycle on Sunday mornings at 6 am though Boston. Talk about deserted!
An early Sunday morning ride would be so cool. cool

Re: New Englanders itching to ride?

This one too.

When you compute the length of time between the "EVENT" and "THE NOSTALGIA FOR THE EVENT", the span seems to be about a year less in every cycle.
Eventually the nostalgia cycles will be so close together that people will not be able to take a step without being nostalgic for the one they just took.
At that point, everything stops. DEATH BY NOSTALGIA. Frank Zappa

I can't understand why anyone would want an old, scratched up, dirty, dusty bike, when you could go and buy a brand new shiny one.

Re: New Englanders itching to ride?

Old thread, but still itchin'. lol

We should get a weekend afternoon ride going. The Beantown
ride looks cool, but not practical for me. I'd love to ride at
Salisbury or Hampton. There is a rail trail in Chelmsford to
ride. Anywhere really. None of the meets I've been to so far
included a ride.
