this is pretty cool repair/upgrade muscle forks

ok so i got some muscle forks and the top caps that come stock with the forks were pretty beat up. i didnt want to let go of them because of the damage to these top caps that had the gt logo engraved in the caps. so i wanted to see if i could replace them, bring them to a machine shop or engraving shop. as you know that will cost some money. and putting money into some new caps probably would cost the same as finding a NOS muscle fork. so should i throw the forks in the closet or repair them. as i took these caps off and i was wondering what i should do "POW" it shot in my head that stem caps fit nicely in the holes that were left. so now im ordering some larger star nuts to see if i can make some magic happen at a cheap price.  here are some pics of what i want to do and the possibilities of different caps i might use. after it works out good im off to get it powdercoated.

this is how they look new, mine were nothing as nice.

I think they are cool too.

Good Job. cool

When you compute the length of time between the "EVENT" and "THE NOSTALGIA FOR THE EVENT", the span seems to be about a year less in every cycle.
Eventually the nostalgia cycles will be so close together that people will not be able to take a step without being nostalgic for the one they just took.
At that point, everything stops. DEATH BY NOSTALGIA. Frank Zappa

I like the ones that say handcrafted since 1972... for some reason though, I think they would look much better if they were turned 180 degrees so you read them from behind the bars. Know what I mean?

They look a lot better with those on, I always thought the original caps looked like crap. Great job man can't wait to see the Speed Series done big_smile

Thermal count is rising, In perpetual writhing. The primordial ooze, And the sanity they lose. Awakened in the morning, To more air pollution warnings. Still we sleepwalk off to work, While our nervous systems jerk. Pretending not to notice, How history had forebode us. With the green house in effect, Our environment was wrecked. Now, I can only laugh, As I read our epitaph. We end our lives as moles, In the dark of DAWN PATROL
