Re: Talk Dyno to me!

Thanks man, it was a gift from my buddy Johnny. Everything in this picture were gifts from clients/ friends. Except the bmx books, I bought those from the Troll book club cart at school BITD...

Re: Talk Dyno to me!

I know the PC was a different animal, and the mid-90s Slammers I believe were full cr-mo, but save minor changes to plates (single/double/welded), rear drop out tabs, cable guides and forks, its amazing to me that Dyno maintained basically the same freestyle frame design for the majority of its models from 1986 to 1997 yikes
I think that says a lot about the utility of the design.
Do any specialists know if the frame geometry changed much from mid/late 80s to mid/late 90s or are they really as similar as they appear?

I picked up a 1995 Compe frame off eBay, thinking it was an 85'. That's how similar they appeared. Of course the pictures were crappy as well. - lol  However, when I received it in the mail I immediately noticed how the bottom frame tube was much thicker than the 80's models.
I'm no specialist, but other than downtube and rear drop outs, I'd say the 80's and 90's models were pretty similar in geometry. Like you said, "that says a lot about the utility of the design.". Dyno had a good run! - lol  smile

that front is an 87 dia compe cable i got from a member. the others came from the for sale section on here. i have a NOS rear 87 cable that could be used as a front if you want.

Super nice! Way to represent the Detours. And you have them pretzel bars with the low crossbar, like h20-50. The lower the crossbar the better! smile
Spankylips just finished his entry as well. Pretty sweet!

I just finished my summer rider tonight as well. Not entered in anything, but I'm happy with it. Took an 87' Detour and made it up with 86' Compe II decals! Used a bunch of miscellaneous parts I had in my shop that I wouldn't think of using on my other restores (like an ACS rotor, Tioga Compact disk, etc.) Went out riding tonight and already got a few scratches! LOVE IT! sad You would not believe how much easier the old school tricks are on this compared to my newer KHE riders. smile Had it powder coated in "sunrise red". I'll be posting it on my page tomorrow morning. Need something to do while at work! - lol smile
