Re: Who has sold a bike that you wish you held on to??
Just goes to show boys, maybe we have to hold on to these for later in life, if anything pass them down to our kids and family.... Iv got some id never sell and once I find og parts I just replace the after market parts here's some examples

These I just build up within seconds of geting them With what parts iv got laying around and keep puting on og parts as they come along, eg chain wheel on black DB must go, pork chop sprockets thrown as far as I can get them etc etc.

My 3 NOS Hutch Judges.
No joke, I had a red, white, and a blue one, all in their original boxes. I sold them all to Jeff Haney years ago. Big mistake, but no sense crying over spilled milk! ![]()

Re: Who has sold a bike that you wish you held on to??
I have no pics of my old bikes, as when I was young bikes were nothing, id have 3 or 4 all the time, redlines, mongooses, predators, gts, dynos, haros, as everyone in my neighborhood either raced bikes at the track, or ramped on ramps and going trailing was always cool. so we all had tons of bikes and my parents would buy me bikes , used from my friends and a couple new ones, The bikes i miss the most are my Skyway TA , my 1986 gt performer, My haro group 1 which im curently building a haro group 1 so ill have that one back.

I find that completely believable. For the price of pictures you could get a few used parts.

Would love to find an old Mad Dog, Holmes and Platform Dirt Bike. I'd like some 1st Gen Slams. I also need to find some stickers for an HAF and an early Challenger. Is anyone doing repops?

I used to sharpen KKT and MKS pedals and resell them. And when Huffy and Murray flooded the market with gold Araya 7C's and 7W "Aero" rims, I started de-anodizing gold parts because people didn't want them any more.
The funny thing is that Huffy and Murray REALLY flooded the market with gold ano Arayas, yet they're still "rare" these days. That just shows how worthless this stuff was back then, that people would throw it away when the bike got rusty.

This is wat makes us old men young again, yes we may not fit on a 20" bmx anymore and yes we can Only ride for 5 mins without having to pick up our lungs off the ground but who cares??? We our kids are old we can watch them relive our child hood agreed ? And that's the best feeling

Not at all, I just picked up an old Mongoose Menace because it was cheap and it's a little too long for me, seated with a straight post. I put the bars straight up and road it around the neighborhood standing, and the only problem then was that the bars were too low.
Remember that fake CW's were available up to 9.5" in old school, and you could raise your stem another 1.5 inches if it was sturdy enough. That's around 3" higher than this newer stuff.
This is a "long" by old-school standards, and the lower bars caused me to crash hard to the ground every time I tried to hop. That would be alleviated using the tallest of old-school parts. In fact, I still hop super-smooth on my MTB.
To sum up, if you had kept a bike that fit you at 16, it would probably be big enough to ride as a 4" taller adult. And if age prevents you from riding, you're either far older than me or way out of shape.
