That is awesome. Pure soul rider. He'd have rode just as much if he wasn't famous.

Haro / DMC retro? His Black and Yellow bike was one of the all time best looking pro bikes...

Ha!  I haven't seen that in 20 years!  But McCoy! Sure, McCoy!  But Perrrrry......no.

Gonna have to dig it out and watch it again (if I can find a VCR!)

Great news about Dennis and Haro. Can't wait to hear what else is around the corner...

Re: dennis mccoy back on haro

Excited to see Dennis getting some respect...he sure as heck deserves it. I am keeping my eyes on Haro, after the horrible job they did with the most recent retro, them not taking Bob up on his attempt to do something with him, and then the cease and desist sticker crap I had pretty much written them off. I hope things are a changing over there.  I want to believe but I am also very cynical. I hope this isnt just some flash in the pan but a lasting embracing of their roots that becomes a part of who the company is today not just some novelty act for a few season.

Re: dennis mccoy back on haro

With Dom helping them I'm encouraged by the direction they're going with their history. I got to meet the man at a Van's event here in Charlotte last year and got his sig on my Haro hat. Now to get the rest of the legends...

It occurred to me last night that five years ago, Hoffman bikes re-signed Kevin Jones to the team.  Kevin even came out with a new bike.  I wonder why the hype wasn't the same.

I wouldn't say that, it's just almost two different sports these days and flatland is far smaller.

In flatland circles, Kevin is absolutely a legend.

Re: dennis mccoy back on haro

So does this mean Haro will pull its head out of its rear and reissue some classic sticker packs for us?  Because this cease and desist order stuff is a real kick in the teeth for us in the classic community.  Don't get me wrong I love DMC.  He is one of the most down to earth guys in the sport.  His riding is legendary.  But if Haro is going to be treating the classic people with such disdain, I would spend a dollar on any reissue stuff they have.

thats pretty much the same opinion I have about it, it's cool that he's back on haro but haro have handled things pretty poorly the past few years.

Re: dennis mccoy back on haro

dennis can still ride and compete at a pro level. i fail to see how that relates to pleasing a very small group of customers that most likely havent bought, or probably wont buy their current merchandise. unless said product is a retro. i hope they continue to move forward and produce product for todays riders.

in search of Revenge Industries da'kine grips. specifically white, brown, orange, purple. i'll even consider black and both greens. pm me if you have some for sale.

I have a Haro F4, and Haro Z16, and even one of the Haro Z10 push bikes.  I continue to support Haro and not just the retro items.  I do hope that they do something for the old school collectors, but that being said Haro has told me that they no longer have the art work for the old bikes.  I would think that maybe a case could be made on the repop market if the company claims that they no longer have the art work.  Just a thought.  Glad to see DMC back with Haro and I'll still move forward buying new Haro product and restoring my 88 Haro's.

Looking for 1988 Haro Group 1 RS1, RS2, and RS4 frame and forks.  Straight top bar.  Late build 87 serial numbers okay only with original 88 color schemes.

Here's what Haro does not get.... so what if the older collectors are not riding current Haro bikes.  The older collectors have kids and they control the purse strings.  If Haro wants to keep us from restoring our bikes and keeps on snuffing us, I am pretty sure these older guys won't be ponying up to buy Haro stuff for their kids.  Where do you think Harley would be if it were not for the classic collectors.... DEAD.  Because sure as the sun shines no one would pay the huge amount of money that a Harley costs if it were not for their nostalgic past.  This a major marketing cluster F. on their part.  The more that the older guys restore stuff like this, the older guys with kids, the more those older guys feel the love to buy their kid a Haro.  What Haro is doing now is telling us collectors that we are not welcome.  That cease and desist stuff came out at the DUMBEST time ever.  Two steps forward..... 1 mile back.

So they are not welcome to my cash till they stop trying to hurt our collecting/sport.

Re: dennis mccoy back on haro

its not that i disagree with some of these points, but THIS thread is about a 45 year old DMC still being able to ride at a pro level. i respect your opinion, and i understand your wants and needs are not being met by the brand, but this is the wrong place for that.
