Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?
With all the hype and being a "Limited Edition", people will buy it for the sake of collecting it.
He'll be making a new unique evolutionary bike. Kinda like Apple that makes everyone at every age level wanting their products.
Apple says its Resolutionary, IKONIX says its Evolutionary. ![]()

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?
The new design could be based off of this original Haro Freestyler bike...Plain and simple but attractive...

I don't care what Haro sells, I would NOT buy any classic reissue stuff from them till they stop attacking the classic BMX/Freestyle community. I think what they did to AJK bikes is a kick in the teeth to us all.

You do realize It's not "Haro" selling the bike, it is Bob Haro's new company IKONIX.

Nope. Sounds to me like Rick knows something we don't.
Spill it, Rick! Are you making the frames for Ikonix?

I think both sides have a good argument. crownrox it's not like AJK was repoducing anything Haro was offering. Nothing from any current line of bikes. Haro, or whoever owns them, doesn't see the need to spend the dough to make a few hundered sets of decals a year, so some old guy can relive his childhood. why would they. It's a lot of work with little gain. Nobody repoping decals is ever going to get rich off of it.
But you do have a point. It is there name. But the above statement just show, that doing the right thing for the company, might not be good for business.
Now where's my Ikonix spy photo?

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?
I'm totally excited about this
Which is odd, since I am not a Haro guy. Though, I think it will wind up being something retro...which would suck.
Everything I own is for sale. Pm any interest.

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?
I bet it’ll most likely be made in Asia, which is very sad ... I would be very ( happily ) surprised if Bob Haro chose to manufacture the Bike and parts in the US, but he, like all of us just gotta have mo money.
My 2nd point is not much you can do to a Bike anymore. Until the day comes when Cars can fly like in " Fifth Element ", bikes, like cars, like motorcycles will pretty much remain the same. It's a money thing - I truly believe that. Bob is at the age where do it now or never, and he's prolly got Fat Cat Investors looking for a big pay day, so he's taking advantage of his name and what his legacy was, and he’s using that to make some coin before he officially retires.

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?
It's a limited run, and it's advistised as next evolution?
I would not expect it to be crap. More high quality and big $$$
Other wise it will not reflect good on his new company.
I dont think its a rehash or retro re-release from the ad. I hope it's something no one expects.
I think with that ad it forces expectations to be high.
If it said tribute or retro ect.. Everyone would know what to expect.
May even be a play with words,
Only time will tell.

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?
Doesnt matter where it's made as long as good quality control is along for the ride....thats whats making Taiwanese bikes good...QC...chinese bike manufacturers need to get decent qc and then they will be right where Taiwan is now...wasnt that long ago that Taiwan was where China is today...and before them it was Japan and look at them now....
Bob if your reading this go for it and do it well like you always did!

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?
todd lyons said on the 2013 se thread that he'll give somebody a $1000 if they can name a complete made in the usa that is sold in a bike shop. so that's a little disappointing since if se who has been around for 30+ years can't afford to make bikes here then who can. if the new haro bike is made here then be prepared to spend big bucks with a limited run.
