Re: Pretty cool Takara score!
I remember takaras. Bike store complete, entry level, early racers. I'd guess the frame is a 78 - 79. I'm not expert. Other parts look nearer.

Re: Pretty cool Takara score!
the first thing i thought was Mongoose knock off, i did some research and ya theyre a low end bike, but being like 40 years, its in pretty good shape. My girlfriend claimed it as her own and wants to help with the build. i thought that was pretty cool ![]()

Re: Pretty cool Takara score!
Nice! Most Takaras in the USA are going to be 79-82.
These might have been marketed as entry level, but mine bitd outlasted every other bike on the block... until it was stolen.
Always looking for "t" gusset Takaras- Frames, frame sets, or completes. Also any Odyssey 2000 brakes/parts(the cross-drilled ones)-Sets, orphan handles and calipers, just about anything.

That is a neat bike. Dirt bike, like my cronies and I had! ![]()
Looking for GT Performer forks - maybe. Lemme know what you have!
V-bars, knobby tires, and chain guards - Oh, yeah!
