1990 GT Vertigo
1990 GT Vertigo
It glows!
I changed it. I built this bike orange and white. I didn't feel it so I took it apart and had the F/F/B/P for sale. Nobody bought it, so I put it back together with black parts.
It has GT 3rd gen frame standers, Dia compe levers and odyssey brakes. Very simple bike and I like it.
This was an experiment with a F/F I got for cheap in the museum. I used Krylon neon orange over a white base coat, then covered it in Dupont 2 part clear coat. I installed Primo Hollow bite cranks with GT pedals. The bottom bracket was sanded and polished, I didn't like the black anodizing on it. The bars are 90's GT bars and the post is also a GT block letter logo. The gyro cables were refreshened with Vinyl paint which sticks like nobody's business. I am very impressed on how strong and flexible that paint is. I also felt like using some fork standers I got from a memeber here in the forum rather than the usual GT standers. The brakes are Diacompe bulldog, the rear was the rarer freestlyle type with the black plastic platform. I got the decals from Dynocrazy on ebay about a year or so ago. The decals are nice, the white is translucent so it looks more like pink than white, but I am OK with that.
This is not a bike for someone like me who does not like to be the center of attention. You WILL get noticed with a paint job like that. Other than that, super nice bike, I love the geometry, it just fits me well.
Looking for Mogoose Decade spoke wheels.

My Father once spoke to me and said "The way you look at your bike is the way I see My children, I look past the imperfections and rough surfaces to the beauty of the finished product."

Re: 1990 GT Vertigo
Love how you actually used the 90 decals rather than making another fake 87
Love the 90 "hazzard models. 90 performer was my first good bike and picked up another a while back. Also gotta a 91.
